The Stakeholders: KidzEra C-Suite Board of Directors
The Mission: Produce a quality, engaging and educational monthly magazine for distribution to elementary and middle school classrooms nationwide.
End Users: Students and teachers
#1
It all starts with the content...
In the case of KidzEra, the content was all created by the audience. My job was to create editorial sections and encourage submissions worldwide. I then scoured through thousands of submissions to choose what to print to fit the magazine’s sections. All published authors/artists got a certificate of accomplishment.
#2
Layout
I oversaw (and often helped with) the layout of the magazine. I pushed for layouts that spoke to our audience in a fun, engaging way.
#3
Copy Editing
Since the content was created by kids, I was extra cautious in editing the magazines to perfection.
#4
Managing the Printing Schedule
I worked with printers to oversee and approve the entire process, from files to shipping.
#5
Getting the Magazine to Kids
The magazines were so popular with students and teachers, I still hear about it today!
